Closed Loop – Recovery and Recycling

Skymark has been a registered recycling company for the last 10 years and operates a closed-loop waste system. This is recycling in its truest sense. The recycling process transforms waste into new products, minimising the waste of useful materials.

At Skymark we also take our customers’ waste and turn it back into products with added value applications.    Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” waste hierarchy.  At Skymark we have in-house facilities to recover and reclaim both plain and printed polyethylene and polypropylene substrates on our state-of-the-art recycling equipment.  Because Skymark operates a closed-loop system all waste streams are fully traceable, making Skymark recycled products of the highest quality.

Skymark Packaging International is an Accredited Re-processor of Packaging Waste

More than ten million tonnes of packaging waste is produced in the UK from industry, commerce and households.   At Skymark we recycle 100% of our process and packaging waste, all other site waste arisings are recycled where recycling streams exist.   This is good for the environment and helps the UK meet its recovery and recycling targets.   At Skymark we recover and recycle UK sourced waste packaging and we are accredited to issue evidence of recycling and recovery to producers and packaging compliance schemes (Packaging Recovery Notes or PRNs).  PRNs are certificates to show evidence of recycling.  PRNs are generated by accredited reprocessors when packaging waste is recycled or recovered. The PRN system enables obligated companies to fund packaging recovery and recycling costs by purchasing the right number of PRNs to match their packaging obligation.
