Our business has built an enviable reputation for high quality flexographic printing and Skymark never relents in its search for innovation and excellence. We have recently installed a new Allstein 8 + 1 colour press with downstream unit that can enhance the printing with special finishes to the final product. Utilizing the latest GPS/ARUN gearless flexo presses and HD flexo printing technology, allied to a sophisticated computerized ink mixing and colour control system, we can offer superb, consistent and repeatable print quality with the very highest clarity and impact for point-of-sale packaging.
Investment in the very latest flexographic printing presses and ancillaries ensures that our customers benefit from the best quality available within the packaging industry. Our range of printing press technology includes three gearless Fischer & Krecke (Bobst) presses, one of which is 10 colour, 2 feature GPS auto setting and registration. Our latest investment is a Allstein 8 Plus one colour downstream, it is a high speed press with many new features. 100% quality monitoring, print bounce elimination print units, ink usage monitoring and of course the ability to print special finishes to the opposite side of the film. All presses provide excellent quality and fast response times. Whether the print design requires a special colour pallet, a 4 colour process set or a full 10 colour design we can meet our customers’ requirements.
Our use of fixed ink colour pallet has benefitted from the new HD plate technologies. This produces enhanced imagery and stronger colours. The latest control systems are used to continuously monitor the print quality at running speeds up to 600 meters per minute.
Our computer controlled mixing and dispensing system, coupled with computerised colour checking, ensures each batch is matched exactly to the original. The most delicate or demanding colours are reproduced consistently every time.
We have upgraded our colour measuring system to X-Rite Color Cert and Pantone live, this gives us the ability to monitor and report colour and print consistency right through to our customers.
With the ever demanding pressure on our industry for sustainable solutions, we are continuously researching ways to reduce our reliance on solvent based inks and coatings. One recent successful trial was on a new water based ink system from Germany, in their view it’s the best trial to date. Running at over 350mpm very clean with very low dot gain. Further testing and trial designs to be completed very soon.
