Type: Blown Polyethylene Films containing 30% to 100% Post Consumer / Post Industrial Recycled Waste
As part of Skymark's Environmentally Sustainable Packaging Program we have developed the SKYRECLAIM Series of films containing 30% to 100% Post Consumer / Post Industrial Recycled Waste, designed and engineered to meet the needs of our customers and the functionality of their end product requirements.
Plastic recycling has an important part to play in reducing carbon dioxide gas emissions, according to a study funded by WRAP. A review of life cycle analysis has concluded that recycling plastics saves about 1.5 to 2 tonnes of carbon dioxide per tonne of plastic recycled, when compared to alternatives of landfill and incineration with energy recovery.
 This together with Environmental Groups constantly emphasising the advantages of recycling films and other polymer based products, instead of making it easier for them to degrade and simply become a lost resource, Skymark has become an Accredited Reprocessor and invested significantly in the recycling and re-pelletising equipment that facilitates the recovery of in-plant waste and post consumer waste and when used with the segregation and blending systems allows production of film with up to 100% recycled content.
Through innovation, design and the use of advanced manufacturing technology SKYRECLAIM films offer a quick and simple option to everyone's effort to improve the environment in which we live by utilising the "recyclable" characteristics of the polymer, meeting the current public way of thinking "to recycle" and reduce the amount of high quality packaging going to landfill.
