The SKYDEG range of OXO-DEGRADABLE films have been designed to compliment SKYMARKS Environmentally Sustainable Packaging policy. As a conscientious packaging film supplier we actively promote the ethos of:
REDUCE • REUSE • RECYCLE
However, as only a few local authorities supply a recycling service for general purpose PE waste. SKYMARK believe its SKYDEG range of films which can be recycled or will degrade over time in a land fill still allows for the responsible disposal of PE packaging and minimises the effects of plastic waste on the environment.
SKYDEG FILMS WILL FULLY DEGRADE BUT CAN STILL BE RECYCLED
Skymark has just invested over ½ million Euro in NEW modern reclamation equipment in order to TRIPLE its recover and recycling output of post consumer and post industrial plastic waste (from 2,500 MT to 7,500 MT per annum). This will enable us to further develop our bespoke CLOSED LOOP WASTE STREAM schemes with our clients, as well as efficiently and ecologically recover and reclaim packaging waste.
Other Environmental Investments:
- Invested in new anilox system: Reduced solvent usage by over 150 MT/annum.
- Invested in Abatement system: Destroys 99% of all solvent emissions to atmosphere.
- Invested in New slitters with Reduced set up times & waste.
- Invested in new digital presses with faster setup time, improved quality and less waste.
- Invested in reusable recycled plastic cores.
- Stopped the use core ends, reducing waste at our customers end.

- Up to 100% of PE process waste is returned to source for Recycling.
- Finished product can contain a proportion of post process Recycled material.
- Working in partnership with its suppliers to Reuse • Reduce • Recycle packaging throughout the production process.
